Some Favorite Links and Interesting Places

  • Violet Jane in Vermont has the most wonderful hand dyed yarn for hookers. Very special and unusual!

  • Halcyon Yarn in Maine is worth a visit for an excellent array of yarn, weaving supplies, and other related goodies. They have a great annual catalog and their website features on line ordering and offers links to fellow artists. They ship exceedingly fast too.

  • Rug Hooking Online has all kinds of relevant information and great links to fiber artists, supplies, and classes. It’s a great networking site.

  • Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild provides the ability to network with hundreds of kindred spirits, with a great newsletter along with information about 'hookins', shows, rug hooking artists, and how to locate teachers and supplies.

  • Green Mountain Hooked Rugs is a great resource for hookers that use wool fabric and dye products located in Vermont. Annually, in June, they offer Green Mountain Rug School, one of the largest rug schools in the country, as well as hooking workshops throughout the year.

  • The Rug Hooker's Network is a great resource. It has a teacher's list of classes by state, supplies, and lots of other relevant information.

  • Trees, in Bolton Landing, nestled in with interesting shops on Main Street, offers books and accessories based on Adirondack history and themes. Some of my creations can be seen there as well.

  • Sea Bags, located in Portland, Maine, has taken old sails and turned them into functional works of art to lug all kinds of things in. You can never have enough bags.

  • LARAC, Lower Adirondack Regional Art Council, is very active in this area, offering great shows, classes, a busy gallery, and a great support system for local artists. They helped me develop this website! Also some of my work is now offered year round in their Lapham Gallery in Glens Falls

  • The Arts Guild of Old Forge offers gallery shows, workshops, and all kind of interesting experiences from outdoor art classes to festival house tours and much more. I will be showing my rugs October 9 -November 7, 2004 in the Rosenau Gallery.

  • Adirondack Craft Center dedicated to the promotion of local north country artists has an amazing collection of incredible arts and crafts located in Lake Placid. Some of my work is included!

  • Check out my friend, Mary Ingalls, stained class web site, wonderful sea related creations and more.

  • The Newtown Hooked Rug Show now has its own website which contains information
about the annual event and photos from previous shows. This is a great show for stocking up on supplies, seeing new products and techniques, along with  rugs on display.
